High Point Market: Fall 2015 Trends
High Point Market is the largest furnishing-industry trade show in the world. More than 85,000 travel from around the world twice a year to see what trends the industry has put together for the High Point Market.

What the marketers see at the High Point Market will make its way into the stores in a few months after the market closes. Why is it important to be in the know, you ask? Because these trends will represent the home deco market for the next few years.
My 6 take aways from the fall High Point Market
- The Color Orange
- Luxe Look for Sofas and Chairs
- Chain Link Design
- Brass, Pewter, wood and Wrought Iron Finishes Used Together on Lighting
- Metal Tacks Used in Designs
- Handcrafted Pieces

The Color Orange It is obvious that the fashion color of Hermes inspired the new orange color that hit High Point Market this fall. This could be the start of a lot of fashion designers entering into the furnishing market with their logo. Who knows how this trend in going to play out …..a sofa covered in LV or Gucci patterned leather or a wall hanging with a gold circle with “MK” in the middle?
Luxe Look for Sofas and Chairs The High Point Market trend this fall has taken a turn away from the industrial to the more plush comfortable look. They also have added a lot of trims and cords.

Chain Link Design Everywhere you looked at the High Point Market, the chain link was used on rug design, furniture trim, and many accessories, including bookends and lighting.

Brass, Pewter and Wrought Iron Finishes Used together on Lighting When you go into a lighting showrooms today, you will be amazed how the showrooms have changed from just a year ago. You will see a lot of lanterns, basket design and metals combined with more than one metal finish. One that is getting a lot of traction is the tarnish gold finish.

Metal Tacks Used in Design The trend today is toward taking furniture and applying metal tacks to make a design. Some of the furniture pieces have been covered in fabric or covered in a glossy plastic or leather.

Handcrafted Pieces Lots of customizable for a one-of-a-kind look. This is where a lot of Asia countries are coming on the market in a big way. Countries, such as, Vietnam and Cambodia and Africa have found a market here, because of cheap labor. Hopefully this trend will be appreciated by the homeowner whom chooses to display crafts in their home.

……………are you ready for this one? Bright Colors are everywhere. I think the biggest influence must have been Street Art on the fabric designers. Pierre Frey Fabric has a huge collection with an abundance of bright color.
If you are thinking, why would I decorate with what’s trendy, only to find it out dated in a year or so? My answer to that is……… your own style and classics is the better way to go! Your home should be your comfort zone. Surround yourself with things that make only your family simile!
When you sign up in the email orange box below you will be sent an email on “How to find your own signature style”. This will answer a lot of questions you may have on what and how to purchase items for your home. Keep those WINKS coming! See ya next week. 🙄
