Atlanta Decorators’ Show House and Gardens 2015
Come with me on a visit to the Atlanta Decorators’ Show House for 2015 that I attended. The house was built around 1998 on two lush acres in the heart of Atlanta. The home is featured in William t. Baker gorgeous book, New Classicist: American Architecture, and remains a sought-after backdrop for photography and film.
The home, a Versailles-inspired jewel, is a 14,000 square-foot home with beautifully landscaped grounds. It has six bedrooms, seven baths, four half-baths, and countless cozy nooks. The exterior also has many areas for relaxation. The grounds host terraced gardens and a saline swimming pool.

My take from this year’s Show House is that most of the designers used neutral colors as a base and punched it with color. Bright color in almost all rooms but the Master Suite. Accessories of blown glass, shells, blue and white ceramic vases, art and the old stand by, books! There was also a lot of gray tones used and hallways were fulled with art. So, lets take a look at some of the areas.

The Atlanta Designer Show House is the number one in the south. This year marked the 45th consecutive year of the Show House. I will be headed out to the Pasadena California Show House of Design this month for the number one showcase of the west. We will be able to compare what is working in design from one side of the country to the other.
